How is GPA calculated?
GPA is the credit-weighted average of your grade points. Multiply each course\u2019s grade points (A=4.0, B=3.0, etc.) by its credit hours, add those up, and divide by total credit hours. So an A (4.0) in a 3-credit course and a B (3.0) in a 4-credit course gives (12 + 12) ÷ 7 = 3.43.
Grade to points (4.0 scale)
| Grade | Points | Grade | Points |
|---|---|---|---|
| A / A+ | 4.0 | C+ | 2.3 |
| A- | 3.7 | C | 2.0 |
| B+ | 3.3 | D | 1.0 |
| B | 3.0 | F | 0.0 |
Track your academic standing
Know where you stand before grades are official, plan what you need next semester, or check eligibility for scholarships and honors. Credit hours are weighted correctly so bigger courses count more.
