What is a Unix timestamp?
A Unix timestamp is the number of seconds since January 1, 1970, 00:00:00 UTC (the "epoch"). It is a compact, timezone-independent way to store a moment in time. For example, 1700000000 corresponds to mid-November 2023. Milliseconds versions multiply by 1000.
Decode timestamps fast
Logs, databases, APIs, and JWTs store times as Unix timestamps. Convert them to a readable date — in UTC and your local time — or go the other way to get a timestamp for a specific date. Click "Use now" for the current epoch time.
